Steps to Graduate Program Acceptance
- The Graduate Affairs Committee reviews an applicant’s qualifications and recommends acceptance. *Applications are not reviewed until all documentation is uploaded into the official Virginia Tech Graduate School application portal.
- Establishment of a mentor is required prior to admission. This process is helped if, prior to applying, you contact professors you are interested in working with. The Office of Research and Graduate Studies can assist if needed.
- A source of financial support — stipend and tuition — is identified.
- After these steps have been completed, successful applicants are offered admission.
*Applications are not reviewed until all documentation is uploaded into the official Virginia Tech Graduate School application portal.
**Our main admissions cycle is Fall. Selecting any other semester may result in a delay in review. Spring admits are contengient upon confirmed mentor funding.
